The Plein Air Art Festival takes place in La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WKBT) – The Plein Air Art Festival was held at the Studio Gallery in La Crosse.

Last weekend, local artists were on Grandad Bluff for a quick two hour painting.

Today, they exhibit their art for the whole community to come and see.

Art that was created in downtown La Crosse during a quick painting event was also on display.

The event organizers encouraged the public to meet the artists and learn more about their work.

“The Plein Air Show is an exhibition of paintings that have been created over the past two weeks here at La Crosse. Using the Plein Air method, paint from the light. We have a lot of award-winning artists here and it’s probably a top-notch show we’ve ever had, ”said Ellen Kallies, Outdoor Festival committee member.

Art was not exhibited just for the show. Members of the community were also able to come and buy some of the art to support the artists.

The Plein Air Art Festival is still open from noon to 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Studio Gallery on Market Street.
