The Arts Council announces € 925,000 for music and art festivals


The Arts Council has announced funding of € 924,989 for music and arts festivals taking place between January and June 2022.

The Council received 73 applications for the first round of the Festival Investment Scheme, of which 59 festivals were funded in 16 counties. The average grant increased by 9% compared to the previous year to reach € 15,677.

Funding amounts range from € 2,500 to € 35,000 and among the music festival recipients are the Dinny Delaney Festival of Uilleann Pipers (first funded by the Council), Open Ear, the Dublin International Chamber Music Festival, Féile Nasc, Féile Róise Festival of the Rua and the Ortus.

The second round of the Festival Investment Scheme, for festivals taking place between July and December 2022, will be open for applications on October 19, 2021. The deadline is November 18 at 5:30 pm.
