Support conservation efforts at Hemker Park and the zoo’s first gala

ST. CLOUD – A central Minnesota zoo is hosting a unique Valentine’s Day event this weekend.

The nonprofit Hemker Park and Zoo Guardians of Conservation is hosting its first-ever fundraising gala for the love of rhinos on Saturday. The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the Coyote Moon Grille with a cocktail reception, followed by dinner and a show at 6:30 p.m.

Of the money raised, 10% will go to the International Rhino Foundation, and the rest will fund a portable X-ray machine for the zoo. Freeport Zoo welcomed Tio, a large one-horned rhino, in the fall of 2020.

Gala tickets are $130 per person or $1,500 for a table of ten. The group package also includes take-out bags and a private animal encounter.
