South Hills Hummingbird Sanctuary is a must-do summer trip

It was horrible when the South Hills burned down during the Badger fire. Some of my favorite campsites like Father and Sons and Bostetter aren’t really a thing anymore. Fortunately, the Hummingbird Sanctuary is still thriving and it’s a place you must go this summer.

For those who have never been to the Hummingbird Sanctuary, it is on the Twin Falls side of the South Hills on Magic Mountain Road. Visit Southern Idaho has shared a video of the amazing Hummingbird Sanctuary that you’re going to want to check out and as soon as you do, you’ll want to go.

The Hummingbird Sanctuary is maintained by individuals and at this time of year and when it starts to get a little cooler you can see dozens of hummingbirds foraging and circling around the area. It’s a good thing to show children.

There is a nice walking trail around the area, trees, seating, and lots and lots of hummingbirds. I would highly recommend going there every time you visit the South Hills, even if it’s only for a second. If you’ve never been there, I would definitely recommend making it a must-see destination this summer.

The South Hills themselves are one of my favorite places to go on an adventure and a picnic among the hummingbirds feels like a nice summer getaway that doesn’t really cost a lot for family fun.
