ON THE MENU – Reinforced Golden Cup drinks menu set for extended hours around Heritage Fest – Port Arthur News

NEDERLAND — Golden Cup owner Janna Bartz is proud of what she’s been able to accomplish since opening her location on Boston Avenue two years ago.

Since February 2020, Bartz has hired more staff, significantly expanded its drink menu, and secured the full building lease.

The Golden Cup extends its opening hours during the Nederland Heritage Festival. The shop will be open until 9 p.m. on weekdays to coincide with festival times.

“If the parents need coffee to keep up with the kids, or if you work at one of the kiosks, we’ll be there,” she said.

Bartz has hired more staff to accommodate larger groups who want to use the space.

“Now I can organize meetings if larger groups want to come,” she said. “I can arrange this because I have plenty of seating. Before, I had three small tables. I have a lot more room for people to come in, or if the family just wants to come in and hang out after school. There is room for that. If students want to come and study, we have wifi now. »

The possibilities for space are endless.

Bartz is always adapting to figure out what she wants to do with the extra space.

“I’m really excited,” she said. “It gives me a lot more opportunities to make money than just making coffee drinks.”

Bartz has expanded the drink menu to over 50 flavors.

The Golden Cup has every flavor under the sun to sweeten your drink.

“We have everything you are looking for,” she said. “At the moment, we’re still just doing drinks, and that’s worked well for us for the past couple of years. We can do things like caffeine-free strikes now. We have options for people who cannot take caffeine. I keep adding to the menu regularly.

The Golden Cup has endured its first two years of operation unlike most. The cafe opened its doors a month before the pandemic brought the economy to a halt. After a year, a freeze flooded the area, causing the state to shut down for an extended period.

Bartz believes the difficult start to her business has made her and the store stronger.

“If I can get through these last two years, I feel like I can overcome anything,” she said.

The Golden Cup is located at 1336 Boston Avenue. Call 409-543-3112 for more information.
