Noosa Tourism will no longer offer the Noosa Eat & Drink festival

The Tourism Noosa Board of Directors has made the decision to no longer host the popular Noosa Eat and Drink Festival.

It seeks to outsource the delivery of the festival in the future to an event operator through an expression of interest process.

Tourism Noosa’s role in Noosa Eat and Drink will be a key partner of the event.

Tourism Noosa chief executive Melanie Anderson said the move was due to financial risk inherited during the Covid pandemic.

“We are a small organization and the risk / reward ratio is difficult from all angles,” Ms. Anderson said.

“Even though this is a phenomenal and very successful event, the risk of running it for us is too high.

“But that doesn’t mean it’s not a great opportunity for another organization that does this kind of work on a regular basis to take it on and run it as part of their agenda.

“We are looking forward to the festival continuing in Noosa as it is such a popular festival. We are simply looking for the perfect partner to take the risk of executing it.

“We will support the marketing, we will assist and make sure that the brand is the look and feel of Noosa. We just won’t take the financial risk. ”

Marketing food tourism to continue to support the industry will remain a key objective for Tourism Noosa in these uncertain times. More details will be shared on this in the coming months.
