Colombo, July 16 (NewsWire) – New health guidelines have been released to ease restrictions on several activities in Sri Lanka due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The director-general of health services, Dr Asela Gunawardena, said activities allowed to reopen from today must strictly adhere to health guidelines.

The activities authorized to operate as of today are as follows:
- Children’s parks
- Religious institutions and religious festivals
- Wildlife reserves / Zoo
- Adventure / Campsites
- Indoor musical performances permitted at less than 50% capacity
- Authorized sports (sports with physical contact not authorized)
- Open betting centers
- Hostels and pensions
However, outdoor musical performances and carnivals are prohibited until further notice.
Dr Asela Gunawardena said restrictions were relaxed after reviewing the current coronavirus situation in the country.
