Lake County, Florida weekend things to do include festivals, music

Vet Fest 2022 will be held this weekend with its new location in Leesburg. Plus, many Halloween events are coming to an end, with spooky adventures for the whole family.

Vet Fest Lake County

The Vet Fest gala takes place Friday night with guest speaker Boone Cutler.

On Saturdays, join veterans on an 8:30 am escorted ride to honor all who have served the nation. The starting point is AMVETS Post 1992, 32201 AMVETS Way in Mount Dora.

Crutches go up at 10:30 a.m. Escorted rides will be provided by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office to the Gator Harley Davidson Memorial Wall, complete with live music and vendors.



The seventh annual BOO! The festival at Wooton Park and downtown Tavares will be on Friday from 6-9pm

Enjoy Trunk-or-Treat, games, music, artists, food vendors and more.



The Leesburg Partnership’s Boo Bash will feature local businesses, civic groups and municipal services set up in Towne Square in downtown Leesburg from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Make sure the costumes fit snugly and children can see clearly to avoid falling.

They will be handing out sweets and having fun activities for the kids, as well as a costume parade around Towne Square and ending on the steps of Town Hall for the costume contest.


Annual harvest festival in downtown Clermont

Celebrate fall at the annual Downtown Clermont Harvest Festival presented by Clermont Main Street on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Entertainment is planned for the whole family. There will be 150 vendors on site.


Nightmare on the trails of Clermont 5K

A spooktacular 5k night run/walk with several interactive ghost zones along the route on Saturday starting at 6:30pm at Victory Pointe in Clermont.

Costumes are encouraged with cash and merchandise prizes awarded to top categories.


Halloween pub crawl and movie night

After taking the kids to Boo Bash on Saturday morning, throw an adult party! Halloween Pub Crawl and Movie Night in downtown Leesburg start at 6 p.m. and Poltergeist starts at 8:30 p.m. in Towne Square.


Not-So-Scary Halloween Weekend at Amber Brooke Farms

Have fun in the fall at Amber Brooke Farms, 36111 N CR 44A in Eustis, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.

The event includes a one-acre maze, pumpkin painting, playgrounds, pumpkin patch, live music and a petting zoo.

Admission is $15 per person, children two and under are free.


Tent or treat on the farm

Join the farm organizers for family fun and candy at Sunsational Farms in Umatilla on Saturdays from 3-6 p.m.

The fourth annual “tent or treat” will feature individuals and businesses set up, handing out candy. This is our firm version of a chest or treat.

The event is free. Come in costume and take your picture in front of our iconic Big Orange which is currently transforming into Big Jack.


Cry scenes in the square

Scream Scenes at the Square is an exciting new haunted house experience within Lake Square Mall for the 2022 Halloween season, taking place every Friday from 5-8 p.m. until October 31.

Located in the center of the mall, next to Bath and Body Works, this is a spooky maze that will test even the bravest of Halloween fans. Visit graveyard scenes, an abandoned mansion and even a haunted arcade and more.

Tickets are $10 per person and $5 for ages 12 and under.


Fall Festival and Corn Maze

Scott’s Maze Adventure is back for its 19th Annual Corn Maze, Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This year’s theme is pirates. Lose yourself in the 6.5 acre corn maze, hop on the jumping pillow, slide down the 60 foot slide or play on the castle’s giant playground.


Spooky Nights at Far Reach Ranch

Join us for FRIGHT NIGHTS at Far Reach Ranch every Friday and Saturday in October from 7 p.m. to midnight. There is no admission charge for this event.

Enjoy live music, ax throwing, ghost zone for kids and more.


“The Diary of Anne Frank”

Bay Street Players opens “The Diary of Anne Frank” at the State Theater on Friday. The show runs until November 13.

madness mansion

It’s the last weekend for the Manor of Madness at the Melon Patch Theater in Leesburg from 7pm to 10pm Friday and Saturday. Take an immersive journey into madness as the scene turns into a haunted house.


Live drama theater

The Living Drama Theater in Eustis is hosting three shows this weekend, including a symphony, a tribute to Elton John and rock and roll alumni.

The Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra performs The Magic of Mendelssohn on stage at 7:30 p.m. on October 27 with Cleveland Pops guest conductor Carl Topilow.

A tribute to Elton John by Dwight Icenhower covers the musicians’ popular songs at 7 p.m. Friday.

Solid Gold Hits, a musical journey through the years with Stevie G and Rich Wilson finds the rhythm with songs from the 1950s to 70s. It’s on stage at 7 p.m. on October 29.
