Do you recognize this car and this driver? TTPD needs your help

Texarkana Texas Police are asking for your help in identifying the driver of this vehicle following a hit and run earlier this month.

On July 2, 2021, the woman in that Smart car was apparently backing up into the Super One parking lot when she ran over a 70-year-old woman on her way to her car. According to the story, the woman was dragged under the car for several meters before the driver started the car and left the scene.

From the publication on the TTPD Facebook Page:

There is no doubt the woman couldn’t have known she had run over something and it even appears to be checking her side mirror as she walks away, leaving the elderly victim lying in the middle of the aisle.
A witness described the woman in the white and gray Smart car as being in her thirties with curly brown hair and a chubby face. It appears to have a Texas license plate – although it is not readable in the video.

The victim, who was not identified in the statement, was rushed to hospital and then airlifted to a hospital in Dallas with serious injuries. Fortunately, these injuries are not life threatening and she should recover.

If you think you know who this person is, please call the Texarkana Texas Police Department at 903-798-3116 or the Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP.
