The City of Hobart (CoH) and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) are seeking EOIs for a Creative Director for the second Hobart Current: a creative program that aims to nurture and showcase Tasmania’s most innovative creatives alongside their national peers.
The unique exhibition model and integrated public program celebrates contemporary visual art, design, film, performance and literature and is scheduled to take place at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and in public spaces in Hobart in March 2023.
The Creative Director will be responsible for selecting ten artists and developing an exhibition theme. They will work closely with the Senior Curator of TMAG and the Director of Cultural Programs at CoH throughout the development and delivery of the project.
The Creative Director will be paid AU $ 35,000 which includes the GTS and all per diems and accommodation costs. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated experience curating cutting edge contemporary projects such as large-scale exhibitions or art festivals and who is open to creating experiences that appeal to a wide audience.
