Crash Test Dummies will play the Pleasantville Music Festival on Saturday

PLEASANTVILLE, NY – With sadness, Pleasantville Music Festival officials announce that due to a serious health issue within the band, 10,000 Maniacs have canceled the remainder of their summer tour and will not be able to perform at the Festival. This year.

The good news is that the festival was able to quickly add a replacement to the lineup with the booking of ’90s alternative rockers Crash Test Dummies.

Known for their hit songs ‘Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm’, ‘Afternoons & Coffeespoons’ and ‘The Superman Song’, Crash Test Dummies, formed in Western Canada, have been together since 1988.

10,000 Maniacs released a statement. “We are heartbroken to report that due to serious health issues in the band, doctors have advised us not to travel or perform in the near future. We are working to reschedule some shows and hope to see our fans on the road. We ask that our privacy be respected at this time and thank everyone involved for their support and understanding.

“Our thoughts are with the group. We wish them a speedy return to health,” said director Bruce Figler. “The Festival will continue to adapt as we have all learned to do lately. We are delighted to welcome Crash Test Dummies to the Festival.

With the announcement of the addition of Crash Test Dummies, the Festival lineup is now complete, with 18 acts on 3 stages for nine hours on Saturday at Parkway Field in Pleasantville, New York. Doors will open at 11 a.m. and the music will start at noon.

Music is the centerpiece, but there’s plenty more for the whole family to do: crafts, vendors, food court, beer and wine garden and a whole fun section for the children.

Now in its sixteenth year, the Pleasantville Music Festival, presented by Northwell Health, is known as New York’s Backyard Jam. It’s become a must-do summer event for the whole family, with great local food and drink, a warm and positive vibe and, of course, world-class rock.

Tickets can be purchased online via TicketWeb or at the Pleasantville Recreation Center PMF Box Office, 48 Marble Ave, Pleasantville, NY. The ticket office is open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cash, check payable to Village of Pleasantville, Visa or Mastercard. Online sales will include TicketWeb fees.

Tickets on the day of the event will be sold at the door only on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to security codes, once the tickets are gone, they are gone.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. Please be prepared to present a valid ID as proof of age for all senior and student tickets.
