The South Island Wine and Food Festival draws crowds of up to 10,000 people most years.
A popular Christchurch wine festival has been postponed for two months, after Covid-19 returned to the city last week.
On Monday, organizers announced that the South Island Wine and Food Festival, originally scheduled for December 4, has been postponed to February 5, 2022.
Festival director Callam Mitchell said he chose to move the event due to uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 restrictions.
âAlthough it is disappointing that we cannot proceed as usual in December, we are confident that we will be ready to move to this new date.

âThe new traffic light system will allow us to continue the event under the green and orange settings. “
All tickets would automatically transfer on February 5, he said, and refunds would be offered to anyone who could not attend the new date.
Participants will also need to be vaccinated and present a vaccination certificate to be allowed entry.
