Bacon and beer classic highlights Jersey City weekend events

JERSEY CITY, NJ —The Bacon and Beer Classic, a national traveling food and beverage festival, will make its New York / NJ stop on Saturday in Jersey City.

The event will take place between 11 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot at 107 Morgan Street and will feature beers from local breweries, gourmet bacon dishes and Hormel Black Label bacon strips, according to organizers.

The event, according to organizers, took place in front of sold-out crowds in Chicago, Seattle, Denver and the Bay Area.

Festival guests must be 21 and over, and ticket prices range from $ 65 to $ 115, the latter for VIP access.

Organizers said a ticket reserved a semi-private time slot and allowed attendees to go from stand to stand along a one-way tasting trail, which includes seven bacon entrees, two sweet treats, more of 50 beers and ciders and “lots of bacon surprises.”

The event will also include music, photo ops and games.

Tickets are available online and can be purchased for the afternoon session (11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.) or the evening session (3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.). On Wednesday evening, there were only VIP tickets left for the evening session.
