One person died Monday after a head-on collision between two vehicles in Rock County.
A red Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on Highway 11 in County Rock near the town of Plymouth when it crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a black Ford F550 heading eastbound 4:49 p.m. Monday, Rock County Sherriff Troy Knudson said. in a report.
The Chevrolet Silverado turned around and came to a stop in the middle of the road and caught fire as the Ford F550 rolled into the ditch on the south side of the road. The driver and sole occupant of the Chevrolet Silverado was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver and sole occupant of the Ford F550 was transported to Mercy Hospital and the Janesville Trauma Center with serious injuries, Knudson said.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing and the medical examiner’s office will release the name of the deceased at a later date, Knudson said.
