A huge vegan festival is coming to Salford in May

For the first time ever, Vegan Market Co will set up shop in Salford’s Greengate Square in May, for a weekend of vegan street food, beers and ethical shopping. Taking place on Saturday 7th May, the Salford Vegan Market will feature a handpicked selection of the best sustainable businesses.

The event will feature an impressive selection of local vegan street food, artisan pastries and artisan cheeses, as well as handmade cosmetics, ethical clothing and crafts. Lewis Beresford, founder of Vegan Market Co, said: “We are delighted to be in Salford for the first time.

“We work hard to find the country’s leading vegan producers, from street food vendors and bakers to ethical clothing and cosmetic procedures. We also work with many local businesses and look forward to giving all these fantastic producers the platform. -shape they deserve and to present to the wonderful people of Salford.”

Vegan Market Co held its first event in Cambridge in 2016, and since then has held one to hold events in over 40 locations across the UK. Recent pit stops have included Lancaster, Sheffield and Leeds.

Bringing together a new wave of artisan producers, Vegan Markets Co is driven by a mission to make veganism as accessible and inclusive as possible. The event is designed for everyone, whether you are vegan, vegetarian or just curious about plant-based products.

Organizers are also aware of the carbon footprint associated with hosting events like this, which is why the team works with Ecologi to offset their emissions by supporting conservation projects around the world.

Another way to improve their green credentials is to plant a tree for each company that participates in the markets. For each event, around 40 trees are planted in the areas of the world that need them the most.

The Salford Vegan Market will take place in Greengate Square and will run from 10.30am to 4.00pm on Saturday 7th May. To learn more, visit the website here. I
