2 men hijacked in car in NJ mall parking lot, cops say

PARAMUS – Two Jersey City men were hijacked from their cars at gunpoint in the Garden State Plaza parking lot on Tuesday night.

Police chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said the pair were walking towards their Mercedes G-Wagon in the parking lot near the west entrance of the mall around 9:30 p.m. when a man rushed over to them. The man showed a handgun and they granted his request to hand over their keys, according to Ehrenberg.

The suspect is described by the men as being slim, measuring around 6 feet 3 inches, wearing a black sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and a black face mask.

The vehicle was located in Jersey City by the State Police Auto Theft Task Force along with another who had been involved in the incident.

Ehrenberg asked anyone with information about the incident to call 201-262-3400.
